He underlined the commitment of the Municipality to support this initiative and expressed his conviction that “this cooperation will contribute to the further development and promotion of Piraeus as a modern and dynamic city”.

The President of the Piraeus Traders Association, Mr. Kapralos said “This initiative is an important step towards strengthening local entrepreneurship and the development of Piraeus, with mutual benefits for all parties involved. Piraeus, with its long history as a centre of commerce, culture, shipping and tourism, is now at the heart of a new era where the local and the global intersect.

The development of short-term rentals in our city in recent years has been an important pillar of tourism. However, for us marketers, this dynamic sector is not just a number of arrivals and bookings, but a vibrant source of growth that can breathe life into the local economy and boost Piraeus’ shops.

Our collaboration with Stama is based on the belief that the development of tourism and the strengthening of small and medium-sized enterprises can and should complement each other. On the one hand, short-term rentals bring new visitors to our city, who not only stay but also spend in local businesses. On the other hand, it is the entrepreneurs of Piraeus who shape the overall visitor experience through their hospitality, products and services.

Today we are building a solid bridge of communication and cooperation. As a trade association, we see multiple benefits for our members that will result from this partnership.

The President of Stama Greece, Mr N. Gavalas, said: “The aim of the cooperation is to establish Piraeus as an independent tourist destination. The use of Stama’s accommodation network and the strengthening of its presence in the area of high demand will contribute both to the increase of tourist traffic, making Piraeus an even more attractive destination for visitors, and to the development of the local economy, trade and catering”.

This was followed by the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Piraeus Traders Association (PTA) and the Short-Term Accommodation Managers Association Association (Stama Greece).
